Black Queens midfielder Evelyn Badu has expressed her admiration for Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew, making known her desire to at least meet him.

Badu, who plies her trade for Norwegian club Avaldsnes IL, says if every player has the “toughness” the Le Havre player is endowed with, they will go far.

The 2022 CAF Inter-club Women’s Player of the Year expressed these sentiments in an interview with Adepa GH on Onua TV.

Speaking from her base in Accra, Evelyn Badu said there are two Ghanaian personalities she admires and desires to meet: Dede Ayew and Shatta Wale.

She confessed not having set sights on the Black Stars captain in real life and an opportunity to meet up with him will be fondly relished.

“There are two people, Dede Ayew and Shatta Wale,” she answered when asked which two Ghanaian celebrities she admires.

“[For Ayew] I want to meet him and have a selfie with him,” she opened up.

“If I see him, I will be okay.”

She later added: “I have never seen a tough guy like Dede Ayew before [and] if every footballer will have the skill with this toughness, like every footballer will go far.”

Badu was part of the Hasaacas Ladies squad that played at the maiden CAF Women’s Champions League in Egypt in 2021.

She scooped the Top Scorer and Player of the Tournament awards.

She played a crucial role in the Black Queens’ qualification to the 2024 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations to be held in Morocco.
