Dr. Deborah Mensah, the Juaboso District Director of Health Services, has revealed that malaria is the most prevalent disease in the district.

She says although every town in the district has been affected by malaria, the District Health Directorate has put in place measures to help curb its spread.

She made these remarks during the annual review meeting of the Juaboso District Health Directorate, held at Juaboso.

Dr. Mensah emphasized that malaria remains the primary health concern in the area.

In response, the Health Directorate has distributed mosquito nets to help prevent the disease.

She advised residents not to use the nets for harvesting cocoa but to instead sleep under them to protect themselves from mosquito bites.

She highlighted that prevention is always better than cure, as falling ill leads to loss of money, time, and decreased productivity.

Dr. Mensah also noted that the mosquito nets are not only effective in preventing malaria but also provide protection against other mosquito-borne diseases, such as yellow fever.
