The Headmaster of Bodi Senior High School, Charles Kwadwo Dziwornu, has lamented the loss of most students posted to the school through the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

In a recent visit of the Western North Regional Minister to the school, Mr. Dziwornu disclosed that he lost over 500 students who were posted to the school the last academic year.

According to him, many parents do not want to send their wards to the school because the school lacks a boarding status.

He therefore appealed to the Minister to help upgrade the school to a boarding status.

The Headmaster noted further that some guardians have also cited poor security in the school as a reason for withdrawing their wards due to lack of fence wall at the campus.

Dziwornu further complained about lack of furniture in the school, saying the challenge will hamper the smooth writing of the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Dziwornu also shed light on the lack of staff accommodation in the school, making the teachers reside outside the campus which he says is not helping.

The lack of classrooms for the students, according to the Headmaster, has also led to overcrowding in the school. He also said the school lacks a computer laboratory, and pleaded with the Regional Minister to ensure all these challenges are addressed for them.

In response, the Regional Minister, Wilbert Petty Brentum, expressed appreciation to the teachers for the sacrifices they are making despite the challenges they are going through.

He shared in the plight of the teachers having taught before himself, and encouraged the staff to keep on with their sacrifices, promising to make the school become one of the best in the region.

The Minister toured the school to inspect the challenges himself, and encouraged the students to take their studies seriously, whilst promising to address their urgent need of providing furniture for them to have a stress-free WASSCE.
