An unidentified person has allegedly poisoned more than 7 sheep at Adamasi near Bonsu Nkwata in the Sefwi Juaboso District of the Western North Region.

Owner of the sheep, Amina explain explains she woke up in the morning to find the lifeless sheep on her compound and after examination of the scene with her son, they identified someone might have poisoned them.

“When I was going to bed last night they were in te cage. This morning when I came out, I saw them lying down dead. So I called my son. Then we saw some corn on the ground so someone mixed the corn with poison and gave it to them,” she narrated to Emmanuel Sowah, a Freelancer.

The assembly man for the area, Bawa Ibrahim, noted “I received a call that some animals have died. So I came around to check and I realised they might have been poisoned by someone. Some of the maize had been spread near the Pentecost church. Some were also at the CAC,” he revealed.

Mr. Bawah advised the person behind such acts to desist from it since people can be affected if they unknowingly consume some animals who had taken such poison and didn’t die.
