Information reaching OnuaOnline indicate that one of the aggrieved customers of the defunct Gold Coast Fund Management company picketing at the Finance Ministry has collapsed.

The victim, in her mid-forties, is said to have fallen earlier in the morning after spending the night at the Ministry. But her situation was not considered to be serious when her colleagues thought she just tripped and fell.

According to Onua News’ Akua Sarpomaa who has been at the Ministry since dawn, the woman, whose name was given as Armaah, became reserved after collapsing earlier in the morning.

She collapsed again some few minutes after 9 in the forenoon, with phlegm oozing from her mouth. They picked her up and rushed her to the hospital with the rest still carrying out their demonstration.

Meanwhile, the group tells OnuaOnline they will not to allow workers at the ministry drive in today unlike they did yesterday when they allowed them to troop in and out.

The group began a 32-hour protest at the Ministry Tuesday, November 28, 2023, to demand their locked-up funds from the government.

Their Convenor, Charles Nyame, earlier expressed disappointment in the government for failing to release their locked-up cash to them.

He says all efforts by the group for the Ministry to meet their demands have proved futile, making them resort to occupying the ministry as the last option.

“We are demanding payment from the Finance Ministry for the monies that have been approved way back in 2021 for our payment that has not been disbursed. We had interactions with the Minister, but all he could say was for them to assist us. I mean, the Finance Ministry wants us, the customers, to go after the company shareholders to vacate the court challenging the liquidation so they pay us. This is unheard of. There is no way we can take the law into our hands,” Mr. Nyame had said.

He indicated that until the group’s picketing duration with the police elapses, they are not going to leave the premises unless their demands have been met.

“We are still at the Finance Ministry until the 32 hours we agreed with the police elapse. So, we are still here,” he said.
