Tension has gripped Papaase No. 2 residents in the Awutu Senya West municipality, near Kasoa in the Central Region, after some persons alleged to be land guards stormed a block factory site, firing gunshots and taking control of the premises.
According to an eyewitness, who is the owner of the place, the land guards claimed ownership of the area and confronted the workers on site at the time of their invasion.
Two persons have been arrested by the police so far, with reports suggesting that the NDC Constituency Organizer for Awutu Senya West, Salifu Adams, is allegedly behind the takeover.
Speaking to Onua News Saturday, May 24, 2025, the owner of the block factory, Elxona Construction, Dominic Oppong Atta, accused the Constituency Organizer of terrorizing him with land guards.

He explained how the situation unfolded, calling on the authorities to intervene to prevent further escalation.
“For the past three years, this man has been tormenting me here. When I came around this morning, he had brought about 15 people to the land who were working, so I invited the police to come for them. It led to a scuffle with gunshots and all. He’s defrauding people, claiming their lands. Two persons have been arrested now.
“I call on the authorities to intervene because that’s what he’s been doing here – claiming people’s lands,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Salifu Adams, the NDC Constituency Organizer, in his response to Onua News, denied knowledge of the allegations, indicating that the person behind the commotion is doing so for political expediency regarding some chieftaincy issues in the area.
He claimed he is the one who even invited the police to the site to avert the situation and cannot be accused of sending the land guards to the area.
“I haven’t had any dispute with the man over any land before. If he claims any such incident, he should provide evidence. Also, I don’t know anything about what happened yesterday.
“On the contrary, I was the one who invited the police to the area when I heard about the disturbances. I have never deployed any land guards to the place. But due to what he’s done, I’ll look for the owner of the land and purchase it,” he stated.
Issues of land guards and takeover of people’s properties have become rampant in Kasoa and its environs, where people are robbed of their properties, with many calling on authorities to address the matter before it gets out of hand.
