Two shops at the Kejetia Market in Kumasi have been burnt beyond salvage in a latest fire outbreak in the Ashanti regional capital.

The incident, said to have occurred around 5am, Friday morning, January 24, 2025, was swiftly attended to by a team of fire fighters patrolling the market.

Though the two affected shops could not be saved from the wrath of the inferno, the fire personnel prevented it from spreading to other shops.

This is the second fire incident in the redeveloped Kejetia Market since it became operational.

The first and major fire incident occurred in March 2023, destroying over 30 shops.

Meanwhile, business activities have not been affected.
