The Member of Parliament for Ketu South and Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has embarked on a working visit to key security agencies within the Constituency as part of her parliamentary oversight responsibilities.
The visit, was aimed at strengthening collaboration with security institutions, discussing critical security concerns, exploring job opportunities for constituents, and receiving firsthand updates on operational challenges facing the agencies, as well as to thank the commanders for a peaceful Easter season.
Madam Gomashie began her engagements at the Customs Division, where she paid a courtesy call on the new Sector Commander, Emmanuel Duh. She welcomed him to the constituency and assured him of her full support and cooperation.
She further emphasized the importance of professionalism and urged officers to adopt a more humane approach in the discharge of their duties.
The Sector Commander expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the Member of Parliament and other key stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
The MP subsequently visited the Ghana Immigration Service office, where she met with the Deputy Sector Commander. Discussions focused on similar themes of collaboration, operational effectiveness, and addressing emerging security concerns within the border enclave.
Madam Gomashie also engaged with the National Security Liaison Officer, Mr. David Sedewodzi Toasta. They discussed broader security issues affecting the constituency with emphasis on intelligence sharing and coordination among agencies.
The tour concluded at the Aflao Sector Command of the Ghana Police Service. During the interaction, the Aflao District Police Commander ASP Charles Anku highlighted the increasing level of crime, particularly during festive periods such as Easter, and appealed for logistical support to enhance operational efficiency.
In response, Madam Gomashie assured the Police Command of her commitment to supporting their work and addressing their logistical needs to ensure safety and security across the constituency.
The Member of Parliament reiterated her dedication to working closely with all security agencies to maintain peace, law, and order in Ketu South.
