Communications Director of Asante Kotoko Samuel Sarfo Duku has revealed that a final decision on the future of Head Coach Abdul-Karim Zito is yet to be taken due to the absence of the Chairman of the Interim Management Committee (IMC).

Speaking in an interview with Akoma FM 87.9MHz on Monday, February 9, lawyer Sarfo Duku admitted that the club is not satisfied with the performance of Zito, who replaced Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum a few matches to end the 2024/25 season.

He hinted that a final decision will be made in a meeting with Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah, the Kontomponiaferehene.

“The meeting is yet to conclude as the Chairman of the IMC is not present,” lawyer Sarfo Duku told Akoma FM.

“We are yet to make a final decision.

“While the coach has done his best, we are not fully satisfied, and any decision taken should come as no surprise to anyone.”

Asante Kotoko are currently 5th in the Ghana Premier League on 35 points and going into a match against archrivals Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

On Sunday, February 8, they exited the MTN FA Cup as defending champions in the Round of 16 after losing 2-4 on penalties to Aduana FC.
