Some former players of Asante Kotoko visited the team on Tuesday, April 2 to speak to the current players over the recent struggles of the club.

The club has gone four matches without a win, the first time in over two decades.

The beleaguered side, which lies 10th on the log, will face Bechem United on Saturday, April 6 at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Stadium on Matchday 24.

Some of the former players including Malik Jabir, Opoku Nti and Sarfo Gyamfi were at the team’s training grounds to pep the boys up ahead of the game.

This was revealed by Gyamfi, popularly called The Black President by Kotoko fans, on Agoro Fie on Onua TV on Wednesday, April 3.

He expressed belief that the team will return to winning ways, starting with Saturday’s encounter.

“I know this weekend will be a good weekend for us,” he stressed.

He also dismissed calls that head coach Dr Prosper Nartey Ogum should be sacked.

“How can you sack a coach in the middle of the season?” Sarfo Gyamfi quizzed.

“It is not advisable. What I feel is that we should all give him our support.”
