Frank Mbella Etouga may not be a Kotoko player anymore, but the former talisman has expressed his support for his former club amid the ongoing turbulence, stating that the club will never go down.

The 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League winner with the Porcupines had a stellar season, scoring 21 times, which saw the club being crowned champions for the 24th time.

His brilliant performance secured him a move away from the club and disclosed to scasantekotoko.com in a chat that though he may not be part of the team, he follows the happenings on a daily basis, adding that it’s time his former teammates took up the challenge.

“I have been monitoring what is happening in Kotoko, even though I am not there, but I still follow the club every week when they play, and I can see that they are going through a difficult situation, but I want to encourage my former teammates to take responsibility and make things better.”

Mbella, who was a fan favourite, further added that such low levels happen once in a while in football, but he believes his former club will never go down.

“The situation now normally happens because this is football. And sometimes it can be good, but now is a bad time, so I just want all the supporters to stay calm, and I beg them not to neglect the team, because this team is one of the best in Africa, and it will never, ever go down.”
