Former Asante Kotoko SC Captain Papa Arko is reported dead.

Papa Arko, who captained the Porcupine Warriors to their last triumph in Africa in 1983, died in the early hours of Sunday, November 26 after a short illness.

Affectionately called ‘Soccer Bob Marley’, the former midfielder was the man who lifted the trophy in Cairo in the 1983 final of the African Cup of Champions Clubs against Al Ahly.

He also played for the Black Stars, featuring at two Cup of Nations.

He was considered one of the legends of the club.
