The Ashanti regional Coordinating Council has constituted a five-member committee and tasked to investigate the recent disturbances at the Krobea Asante Technical and Vocational School.

The fact-finding team is expected to come out with its recommendations within two weeks of its inauguration.

The Committee will be chaired by Justice Samuel Obeng Diawuo, Justice of the Appeals Court. However, the Chief Director of the Ashanti regional Coordinating Council will serve as Secretary of the committee without voting rights.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service have reviewed the number of suspects linked to the disturbances in the school from 40 to 39.

All the suspects made their first appearance at the Asokore Mampong District Court on Tuesday, January 24.

A push for bail by lawyers for the accused persons was not granted by the court after prosecution vehemently opposed the application.

Some parents of the students who were visibly worried couldn’t hold their tears after the application for bail was rejected.

The juveniles amongst the suspects were remanded into a correctional home within Kumasi whilst others will remain in police custody.

The case has been adjourned to February 2.
