Sudan coach James Kwesi Appiah has expressed hope that his side qualify alongside the Black Stars for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

This followed the draw that was held for the qualifiers on Thursday.

The draw was held in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Ghana were drawn in Group F alongside Kwesi Appiah’s Sudan, Angola and Niger.

Reacting to the draw, the former Black Stars captain and coach said there are no longer minnows in football and he is hoping the Falcons of Jediane qualify alongside the four-time champions.

“I’ve always said there are no minnows in football now,” he said in an interview with Onua Sports immediately after the draw.

“It is really important that any team you meet, you prepare very well a d make sure you have the right team to try and win the day.

“Personally, I also think and hope Ghana and Sudan qualify in the group.

“For now I think that is what I can say and I wish both teams the best.”
