Black Starlets coach Laryea Kingston has released his squad for the WAFU Zone B U-17 qualifiers, scheduled to take place in Ghana from Wednesday, May 15.

Kingston named 20 players in all for the tournament, which will take place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Ghana will open their campaign on Day 1 against the Young Elephants of La Cote d’Ivoire before later taking on Benin for a place in the next round.

Two nations will qualify from the three-team Group A.

Group B has Burkina Faso, Niger, Nigeria and Togo to battle for a place in the knock-out phase.

Among the players named in Laryea Kingston’s squad is Benjamin Tsivanyo of Ghana Premier League side Great Olympics.

Three of the players – Hamza Iddrisu, Benjamin Hanson and Mark Mensah – ply their professional trade with Attram De Vesser FC and two are with Still Believe FC.

The Black Starlets were recently in Russia for the UEFA U-16 Invitational Tournament.

After losing the opening game to Russia, they beat Serbia and Kazakhstan to finish runners-up.
