Ghana’s Black Starlets lost their opening game in the four-nation invitational tournament in Russia on Wednesday, April 24.
Ghana was thrashed 3-1 by the hosts in the inaugural game at the UEFA U-16 Tournament.
The first goal, scored by Vadim Shilov, came exactly four minutes into the game.
He made it 2-0 to the Europeans in the 30th minute after scoring from the spot.
Three minutes after Shilov’s brace, Zakhar Chushkin made it 3-0 to give the Russians the needed comfort into the break.
About 16 minutes after the break, Ghana pulled one back through a well-taken kick by Ernest Ofori.
The Black Starlets will play Serbia and Kazakhstan later in the tournament.
