The Black Starlets will be in action today, Thursday, May 14, at Morocco’s Mohammed VI Football Academy Stadium, where they will take on Algeria in their opening game at the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The tournament in Morocco opened on Wednesday with exciting results across Groups A and B.
The attention turns to Group C and Group D, where the Starlets are.
Already, Head Coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum is satisfied with his side’s wrap-up ahead of the clash.
“The friendly matches gave us the kind of competition we needed,” he said in an interview prior to the game.
“We have learned a lot from those games and corrected a few things tactically. The players have responded positively, and I am happy with the progress we have made.”
After Thursday’s opener, Ghana will face Senegal on Sunday before wrapping up the group phase with South Africa on Wednesday.
Kick-off for tonight’s clash is 7:00.
