Popular comedian, Lekzy Decomic has recounted a moment in his career back in 2014 when a political figure confronted him backstage after a performance.

In an interview with Hitz FM on March 26, 2026, Lekzy described after a politician whose identity he did not reveal held his neck backstage, warning him to refrain from making joke about his flagbearer.

The comedian claims that after finishing the first segment of his act and heading backstage, he ran into the politician who was waiting for him.

The politician grabbed him by the neck and told him to find another career if he couldn’t do appropriate jokes.

“I had a very great night on stage. After I went backstage, I encountered the politician who quickly grabbed me by the neck. He said,

“If you don’t have any jokes to tell, go and find a better job. You cannot make jokes about my flagbearer,” Lekzy recalled.

Lekzy also shared his personal limits when it comes to comedy, explaining that he avoids making jokes about rape due to its sensitivity.

“Personally, I don’t do jokes about rape. It is too sensitive a topic to make jokes out of it. Depends on who is executing the joke because there are some people who have made fun of rape issues, but when those who were raped saw the humour in it and they laughed. It depends on the execution,” he said.

He added that comedians often decide whether to continue or stop jokes based on how audiences react.
