The Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, has called on Ghanaians to embrace forgiveness, unity, and service as the country celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Speaking at Christian Easter gatherings, Mr. Ibrahim emphasized the significance of Easter, highlighting Christ’s ultimate sacrifice and triumph over death. He urged Christians to recommit themselves to building a society rooted in justice, compassion, and responsible citizenship.

The Minister also acknowledged the Church’s role as a partner in Ghana’s development, providing education, healthcare, and humanitarian outreach. He emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with faith-based institutions to promote governance, youth empowerment, sanitation, and environmental care.

Also the Minister called on Christian community to continue praying for Ghana, with particular focus on job creation for the youth and also improvements in the education sector, noting that it must be strengthened to equip young people with the knowledge and skills needed for a better future.

Mr. Ibrahim cited biblical scriptures, including Matthew 28:6, John 11:25-26, and 1 Corinthians 15:20, to underscore the importance of Easter. He also referenced Galatians 6:2 and Philippians 2:4-5, urging Christians to carry each other’s burdens and serve one another.

The Minister announced the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, scheduled for July 1, 2026, as a time for Ghanaians to unite in prayer and thanksgiving. He expressed optimism that Ghana will emerge stronger, more united, and prosperous through faith, discipline, and collective effort.

The Easter message concluded with a call to action, urging Ghanaians to rise together in faith and action, building a united, prosperous, and righteous nation.
