The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has promised to extend rural electrification to all by 2028.
According to him, rural electrification – which was started at the time when the NDC was in power – has stopped for some years now since the assumption of power by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The NDC flagbearer believes that every community in Ghana should get electricity to enhance productivity.
This, he further noted, will lead to the improvement in the lives of the people living in those communities.
Speaking at an energy sector engagement in Accra, the former President gave the audacious promise that by 2028 all must benefit from the rural electrification project.
Mr. Mahama insisted that all must get electricity by the stated timeline.
He also vowed to stop the milking of the sector by “family and friends” in the current administration.
