The Member of Parliament for Esikado Ketan in the Western region, Joe Ghartey, has urged members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to support its candidates as fanatics of the elephant fraternity.
The Board member of Ghana Revenue Authority has asked members of the party to make it their policy that since they support the NPP and not personalities, they should rally behind whoever the party chooses to represent in each constituency.
Speaking at the Efia NPP campaign launch and inauguration of the campaign team Monday, August 05, 2024, Joe Ghartey asked the party faithful to vote massively for the NPP, so they would be counted as part of those that made history for the party to break the ‘8’.
“Blessed are those who have not seen but yet believe. We will win the Ashanti Region and it is left with us. Because on that day, we will ask ourselves one question, ‘Am I also part’? When they are announcing that we’ve won here and here and here, [what will be of] Western Region?
“We have to win the Western Region massively so that we will also be counted as part of those that won massively [for the party to come to power]. I don’t support any human being, I support the party so anybody representing the party, I am with him. That should be your policy,” he indicated.
Meanwhile, Godfred Yeboah Dame, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, who was also speaking at the launch told members of the party that the NDC cannot be an option since they have no vision for Ghanaians.
Mr. Dame says the NDC cannot even explain their 24-hour economy to Ghanaians and has asked the NPP faithful not to allow themselves to be deceived.
According to him, Ghana requires a party with a vision and focus, considering the current state, adding that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the only person with what it takes to turn the fortunes of the country around.
Godfred Dame maintained that the NPP’s quest to break the ‘8’ is not for anyone’s selfish or parochial interest but rather to secure and safeguard the future of the country.
According to him, Ghana needs a visionary person like the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to lead the nation to the promised land.
“It is very important that the NPP breaks the 8 and breaking the 8 is not for any selfish reason at all. In my view, it is simply for the future of this country. Don’t allow the NDC to deceive you. It requires only boldness, clear direction and vision.
“Where we are, in the life of our country, we need a party which is focused, a party which is the clear vision. Ask the NDC the vision they are taking into this election. Is it the 24-hour economy they can’t explain? That is not what we need. We need a man with a vision like Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” he charged.
