John Dramani Mahama, the flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has asked Ghanaians to reject the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming elections.
Mahama says that is the only way the current administration can be held accountable for the mess it has created the past 8 years.
Wrapping up his four-day campaign in the Upper East Region Wednesday, August 06, 2024, John Mahama stated that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot investigate the very government he was part of.
According to him, the NPP is desperate to make Bawumia president in order to cover up the thievery of this administration.
He assured the gathering that the NDC will win power to hold the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government accountable.
“Over these last 8 years, a lot of corruption has happened, a lot of stealing has happened, a lot of misappropriation has happened. Now what this government wants to do is to bring their Vice President as the next president so that he can cover up for them, so that they cannot be investigated. Bawumia cannot investigate Akufo-Addo’s government.
“Bawumia cannot investigate a government for which he was part of and so they are desperate to have him so that they can escape the day of accountability. That is not going to happen. NDC is going to win and we are going to hold them accountable,” he indicated.
