The female inmates of the Sunyani Central Prisons of the Bono Region are now facing crises in terms of food security and its storage.

The facility does not have a storage facilities like deep freezer, chest freezer or fridge to store the food they consume at the place, especially most of the leftover food for the next day.

In an interview with the Chaplain of Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Region Prisons Service, Rev. CSP Gideon Ndebugri has made an appeal to the general public to support the female inmates to get a storage facility like deep freezer to help store their leftover foods at the yard.

He said, “as human beings, you cannot in a day eat everything you cook, some of the food needs to be stored for safe keeping until they are used and without a fridge, the life at the prison which is the place of reformation and correctional center of the persons will become another headache for the female inmates.”

He made the appeal on behalf of the inmates during the end of year party for them at the Sunyani Central Prisons.

He has therefore urged to all patrons of the prisoners to come to their aid.
