Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Manhyia South, has petitioned the Electoral Commission (EC) regarding over 1,000 voter transfers attributed to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The complaint, submitted under C.I. 91 regulations, asserts that these transfers involve individuals who do not reside in the Manhyia South constituency.

The EC has referred the case to the Magistrate Court at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi for further examination.

Landlords of the properties where these voters are registered have testified in court, denying that the individuals actually live at those addresses.

Following the hearings on September 20, 2024, the court has adjourned the proceedings until September 24, 2024, when a ruling is expected.
