
Group Chief Executive Officer for Media General, Beatrice Agyemang, has been honoured with the Female Africa Role Model Personality Award 2024 by the Young Professionals and Youth Coalition (YPYC).
The recognition is accorded to professionals who have and continue to exhibit transformational leadership in their field of work.
The citation reads; “You broke free from the shackles pinning down women aspiring to climb higher on the corporate ladder and etched your name in Gold as the second female Group Chief Executive Officer of Media General, Ghana’s most popular privately-owned media stable.
“You are part of the original crop of workers who organically brewed the then fledgling TV3, and by dint of hard work, diligence and attention to detail, earned the trust and confidence of the Board to have placed you at the apogee of Media General, where you have acquitted yourself creditably as a CEO without compare. Congratulations !!!
“On this 6th Day of July, 2024, the Governing Council of YPYC on behalf of all members confer on you, our most respectable title: OVERALL FEMALE AFRICA ROLE MODEL PERSONALITY.”
14 other personalities including former President John Dramani Mahama; Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu; Professor Elsie Effah Kaufmann of National Science and Maths Quiz, and Musician Amerado among many others were also honored at the 15th Africa Role Models Awards.
Founder of YPYC, Andy Okrah explained “We look for not only leadership but a transformational one in your professional level, your personal level, your academic level, and your social level. We are not only honouring leaders but also training and raising generational thinkers and transformational leaders”.
