A sensational gospel artist known in the showbiz as Naa Jacque says her songs are not for sale.
She therefore does not want music pirates to download her works from the digital platforms for commercial purposes.
She has cautioned individuals selling musical works on various music purchasing websites without the owners’ consent to stay away from her songs.
Music piracy is prevalent in Ghana as individuals are to some extent allowed to sit in market places and other public places to reproduce musicians’ works on pen drive for commercial purposes.
The act is devastating for emerging artists as much as established artists and record labels, as it leads to loss of revenue and a devaluation of their intellectual property.
Naa Jacque who is renowned for her extraordinary voice and heartfelt performance speaking on Onua FM’s ‘So w’adwane hwe’ show on Sunday November 10, expressed fret over why these individuals copy and share digital files without the permission of the copyright holder.
She reiterated that her songs are not for sale even though they are available on all the digital platforms.
“My songs are not for sale, even though they are available on the various music purchasing websites, but I will not wish that the songs would be downloaded, put on pen drive and sold,” she cautioned.
“My management will not spare anyone caught in engaging in the act against me,” she noted.
She took the opportunity to express her profound gratitude to the Founder and General Overseer of Believers Worship Center, Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah (The Voice of God), his wife and the entire congregation for their immense support towards her music career.
She prayed every gospel artist would get such support and push from their pastors to help propagate the word of God through music.
