Ghanaian football legend and former Black Stars captain Abedi Ayew Pele has taken a swipe at critics of his sons, citing sabotage.

The former Black Stars captain was responding to a question on how he takes criticisms against his sons anytime they represent the nation.

Both players – Andre and Jordan – have come under the microscope of fans and the media on occasions where they put a below-par performance during games involving the Black Stars.

“They’ve never got it wrong but what I can say is they (critics) never left me alone when I was playing, it was the same so I have nothing wrong with it.

“It’s because they know you have it and you can do it that’s why they come at you and if you don’t have it nobody will call your name.”

The former Ghanaian captain played on several occasions for the Black Stars and won the European Champions league with French club Olympique Marseille in 1993.

Both sons also played for Marseille.

But Jordan currently plies his trade in England with Crystal Palace and Andre, the current Black Stars captain, recently joined French League 1 club Le Havre.
