The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested ten suspected drug offenders during a major intelligence-led operation conducted across several communities in Cape Coast.

The coordinated crackdown targeted alleged drug trafficking and drug abuse hotspots, including Pedu, Victoria Road, the University of Cape Coast (UCC) area, Downtown, and other strategic locations.

According to NACOC, officers carried out simultaneous raids at multiple locations, leading to the arrest of the suspects, who comprise both men and women aged between 24 and 55 years.

During the operation, the Commission also retrieved items believed to be connected to illegal narcotics activities.

The seized exhibits are expected to undergo further examination as investigations continue.

NACOC said the exercise forms part of its ongoing efforts to combat the illicit drug trade, dismantle drug networks and improve public safety in communities across the country.

The suspects are expected to assist investigators and will be processed in accordance with the law.

The Commission further appealed to the public to continue providing credible information to support the fight against drug-related crimes and help authorities identify and disrupt illegal narcotics operations nationwide.
