An Assistant District Planning Officer at Yunyooo-Nasuan District in the North East Region was shot and killed by unknown armed robbers on Friday dawn, October 10, 2025 on the Duuklotuk–Nakpanduri stretch of the Bunkpurugu–Nalerigu highway.
The victim was traveling with a Metro Bus with registration number GN-5180 from Bunkpurugu to Tamale.
According to eye witnesses, the bus was close to the Nakpanduri town when the armed robbers attacked it after attempting to stop the vehicle with torchlights.
The driver, sensing danger, refused to halt, prompting the attackers to open fire on the vehicle.
The armed robbers then shot through the rear view of the bus and killed the officer who was sitting in that area of the bus.
His body has since been transported to the morgue with police yet to commence investigation into the incident.
