The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested six suspects in connection with two separate warehouse robberies that occurred in May and June 2026, leading to the theft of fertilizers and food products worth hundreds of thousands of cedis.
According to police investigations, the first robbery took place on May 25, 2026, at a fertilizer warehouse in Kp one. Armed robbers reportedly attacked a security guard and made away with 751 bags of 50-kilogram organic fertilizers valued at GHS431,825.
Less than a month later, on June 14, armed men struck again, targeting Mummy’s Recipe Warehouse in Tema Community One.
The suspects overpowered security personnel and stole approximately 2,000 bags of Aaba Rice along with other food items.
Following intelligence-led investigations, police traced the stolen goods to various warehouses within the Tema area.
The operation led to the identification and subsequent arrest of six suspects believed to be linked to the robberies.
The suspects, identified as Akala Kudus, Shaibu Dauda, Abdul Rahman Moro, Giya Hudu, Razak Seidu and Francis Ayinsabga, were arrested during coordinated police operations on June 16, 2026.
Police also recovered a substantial quantity of the stolen items, including 717 bags of Aaba Rice linked to the Mummy’s Recipe Warehouse robbery and 600 bags of fertilizer stolen from the Kpone warehouse.
The recovered goods have been secured as exhibits to aid ongoing investigations.
The six suspects remain in police custody and are assisting investigators. Authorities say efforts are underway to track down additional accomplices, recover the remaining stolen items, and ensure all those involved are brought to justice.
The Tema Regional Police Command has meanwhile urged businesses and warehouse operators to strengthen their security systems to help prevent similar incidents.
