Newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) 3rd Vice Chairman Nana Akomea has expressed gratitude to more than 6,000 delegates who participated in the party’s national delegates congress in Kumasi.
Mr Akomea said the delegates demonstrated their commitment to the party by staying through the congress, which lasted from Saturday into the early hours of Sunday, to deliberate on the state of the party, consider key constitutional amendments and elect new national executives.
He particularly thanked the delegates for electing him as the party’s 3rd Vice Chairman for the next four years.
“I thank very much the 6,000 plus NPP delegates who thronged the Kumasi stadium all day last Saturday till dawn on Sunday to deliberate on the state of the party, decide on key constitutional amendments, and elect new national executives for the party,” he said.
Mr Akomea also congratulated all candidates who contested the various positions, including those who were unsuccessful, saying their willingness to offer themselves for the competitive elections demonstrated their commitment to serving the NPP.
“God bless the NPP. God bless our efforts to work for our country,” he added.
