Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, running mate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has chastised the government for wasting taxpayers’ money on what she describes as a “multi-million dugout” in the name of building a thanksgiving edifice to God.

Touting the works of the former President and flag bearer of the NDC, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said John Dramani Mahama has an enviable record as a former President, compared to the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration that has failed to live up to expectation.

Speaking at her outdooring as running mate to John Mahama Wednesday, April 24, 2024, the Prof. of Education indicated that the botched National Cathedral project is not worth an edifice to be used as a thanksgiving to God.

“I don’t know about you but the image I get looking at that hole is a trench in utter shock that anyone could believe that it was intended as a thanksgiving gift to the Almighty, invincible God,” she stated.

She continued that unlike the current administration, “you’ll not find in his [John Mahama] record a free SHS at war; the battle fought on the grounds of space, food, shelter, even calendar, teaching and learning materials, all those who spend a couple of weeks in school and many months at home just idling by.”

Speaking on education, the former Minister of Education under the erstwhile Mahama administration said in her boss’s record, “you’ll not find past questions instead of textbooks and science equipment. You’ll not find an atmosphere that suppresses learning.”

She continued that, “you’ll not find free water and electricity to a few that has turned out to be most expensive for everyone. Such a report will not find covid money shared for partisan political campaign purposes. And all of these done, and people dying and they needed just a little bit of help.”
