The National Communications Authority (NCA) and the Attorney General have been sued for restricting services to subscribers who have not registered their SIM cards.

A group by name the People’s Project, says the directive given by the NCA as announced by the Minister Communications and Digitalization, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, is a breach of Articles 2, 23, and 296 of the 1992 Constitution when properly interpreted.

According to the suit sighted by Onuaonline, government’s failure to issue the Ghana card which is the primary document needed for the registration to all persons makes the punitive measure “arbitrary, capricious, amounts to an abuse of discretion, and same as unconstitutional, null, void, and of no legal effect.”

Below is the full suit against the government signed by Convenor of the group, Kwame Asare Obeng.
