Kwabena Mintah Akandoh is claiming the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) government left eight (8) dialysis machines at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital before leaving office in 2017.

The Ranking Member on the Health Committee of Parliament is alleging the facility is left with only one and a half functioning dialysis machines because the ruling government has failed to repair the devices when they run faulty.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Hospital had revealed that the facility has only one and a half dialysis machine operating at the moment.

He says the hospital is not able to receive out-patients who have been diagnosed of dialysis due to the situation.

Prof. Otchere Addai-Mensah had made a similar disclosure in November 2023, where he said KATH was operating on two faulty dialysis machines despite the facility needing 12 working equipments to function fully at the unit.

Speaking on Onua FM’s afternoon political show, Pae Mu Ka, Friday, February 23, 2024, the Juaboso Member of Parliament said the situation has gotten out of hand because the government of the day lacks focus.
