The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is set to hold a meeting with Civil Society Organizations, diplomats, and other stakeholders to address  it concerns about alleged discrepancies in Ghana’s voters’ register.

The meeting comes in the wake of growing concerns by the party regarding the integrity of the electoral process ahead of the upcoming elections.

The party’s Director of Elections and IT Dr Edward Omane Boamah announced the meeting which will take place at 4 pm on Monday, September 23 in a Facebook post on Sunday, September 22.

According to him, the party maintains its call for a forensic audit of the  voters’ register after giving the EC  a week ultimatum to grant its request.

“Tomorrow @ 4pm we are meeting Civil Society Organisations, Diplomats, Media Managers and Journalists on the significant discrepancies in the 2024 Provisional Voters Register (PVR).

“This exclusive invitation is on the heels of our unproductive meeting with the Electoral Commission on the same matter. We maintain that the Commission must permit a forensic audit of the register and its IT system to restore trust ahead of the general elections on December 07, 2024,” he wrote.

During the meeting, the NDC plans to discuss potential collaborative efforts to advocate for reforms within the Electoral Commission, emphasising the need for transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
