Son of NDC flagbearer hopeful and former Finance minister, Dr Kwabena Duffour, Dr. Kwabena Duffour Jnr., has been cleared to contest the NDC parliamentary primaries on May 13.

He will faceoff the incumbent Alex Adomako, brother of his father.

The Ashanti Regional Parliamentary Primaries vetting committee cleared Dr Kwabena Duffour Jnr. as candidate for the parliamentary primaries in the Sekyere Drobonso constituency.

He was accompanied to the vetting by polling station executives, delegates among other members of the party and some regional executives in the region.

He picked number 2 on the ballot paper after vetting.

Addressing the media, Dr Duffour Jnr. urged delegates in the constituency to vote for him to direct development to the farming constituency.

Meanwhile, three of the four aspirants attended the vetting with incumbent Member of Parliament, Alex Adomako, absent with unknown reasons.

Dr. Duffour Jnr who is tipped to win the primaries with over 70 per cent votes arrived at the vetting with a charged atmosphere amid drumming, singing and dancing.

NDC Members present at the place crumbled to give him a handshake, describing the process as very smooth and very successful after meeting the committee.

He said he is contesting the seat in response to the spontaneous calls by the constituents due to his contribution to the party in the area.

He dispelled his opponents’ campaign claims that he is unfamiliar with the Sekyere Drobonso constituency.
