The Registrar of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, Alexander Kwaku Asafo Agyei, has paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The visit on May 30, according to Mr. Asafo Agyei, was to seek blessings from the Asantehene and to officially inform the renowned King of his new position as the Registrar of the Scholarship Secretariat.

Speaking to the media after the meeting with the Asantehene, Asafo Agyei stated that, he called on the Asante King to help his administration move the Secretariat to a different level.

He observed that he had informed the Asantehene about the Secretariat’s high debt, calling on him for intervention.

“We all know Asantehene’s influence in the global space, and I strongly believe with his support, the Secretariat can raise funds to operate smoothly,” he said.

Asafo Agyei expressed delight, saying his visit had exceeded his expectations as managers of the palace gave the team more than a warm welcome, with the Asantehene giving him blessings and valuable advice.

He said that under his administration, the Secretariat will roll out pragmatic measures to ensure it runs smoothly for the benefit of the country.

He commended President John Dramani Mahama for the confidence reposed in him and assured the President of his utmost dedication to the task ahead.
