The Black Stars have recorded their third 2-2 draw in their last five competitive games following an international friendly against Uganda on Tuesday, March 26.

The Cranes came from behind twice to secure a draw against the Stars.

The results mean the 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists are yet to win in their last seven games, having last won in November, 2023 over Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The Ghanaians began on a high note, scoring after just seven minutes.

Turkey-based Jerome Opoku connected to a corner kick in the Ugandan penalty area to open the score only for the Stars to concede a penalty a few minutes later, Ebenezer Annan going into the referee’s books for that offence.

Ghana-based striker Steven Desse Mukwala stepped up to convert the penalty.

A few minutes later, stand-in captain Jordan Ayew restored the lead for the Black Stars after converting a 28th minute penalty.

That goal at the Grande de Stade Marrakech was Jordan Ayew’s fourth consecutive goal for the Stars, all coming from the spot.

The score stayed 2-1 until the 1978 AFCON losing finalists grabbed the equaliser through Muhammad Shaban.

Defenders Mohammed Salisu and Alidu Seidu, who were substitutes, did not finish the game as they received marching orders from the referee.

Ghana’s next match will be against Mali in June in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
