The Communication Director of the Bawumia campaign, Dennis Miracles Aboagye has cautioned persons who engage in electoral malpractices that they will be fished out and dealt with according to the law.
He issued the caution during a news conference in Accra on December 7.
“This morning, we had an incident in Kintampo South where an electoral officer deliberately in giving the ballot papers was tearing off the face and the column that has Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
“So obviously what it means is that when the voter receives the ballot paper and goes to the voting booth there will be no Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for that voter to even cast their vote, ” he lamented.
According to him, “this electoral officer actually issued out fifteen of such ballot papers. Thankfully, due to the vigilance of our party agents at the polling station, we were able to identify this and as we speak the Ghana Police Service has caused the arrest of this electoral officer and investigations are underway.”
Mr Aboagye expressed worry that, “in 2024 we still have the NDC trying to pursue such crude ways of manipulating our elections. And the NPP is calling for Joseph Derry’s prosecution because whatever he has done clearly was a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise the Ghanaian people, the Ghanaian voter and to deny them their fundamental human rights to vote.”
