Some New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in the Asokwa constituency in the Ashanti region are alleging the altercation of the album for the ongoing presidential primary.
More than 35 names are reportedly missing from the register.
The affected delegates are incensed because their names could not be found in the Asokwa constituency album.
Some of the aggrieved NPP delegates have vowed to resist any attempt to disenfranchise them, although the police have been able to calm nerves.
Some of the affected delegates confirmed the development in an interview with our news team on the ground.
“Our constituency executives compiled all the names and sent it to the headquarters but we have realised some of the names have been omitted and others we don’t know have been added,” they said.
They pointed out that, the Electoral Commission (EC) official has been notified and a proposal for the constituency album which has all the names of eligible delegates to be used.
However, the affected delegates stated the EC has turned down their request, stating the regional office has to be informed about the situation.
“The EC officer said he has been given an order to use only the register from the headquarters so it is only his boss at the regional office who can instruct him to act otherwise,” they added.
