The Teshie Nungua District Court ‘2’ has adjourned the case involving in the shooting of Lawrencia Naa Borley also known as Naa GAMU during her enstoolment to May 7.

This is because Prosecution is seeking more time to finalize their investigations as they await the ballistic report.

Meanwhile, an Accra High Court on April 9 denied an appeal for bail file by lawyers of the suspect, Samuel Adjei.

The suspect, Samuel Adjei, who is facing charges of unlawful possession of firearms and murder, was brought to court by an officer of the CID, Chief Inspector Zibo.

Families of all factions that matter in the case were present at the court premises to witness the proceedings on Wednesday.

It is recalled that tragedy struck in Nungua as Lawrencia Naa Borley Nelson, popularly known as Naa GAMU, the newly enstooled Queen of the Ga-Adangme Muslim Union (Nungua West), was shot and killed during her enstoolment ceremony.

According to eyewitnesses, the celebratory event took a horrific turn when gunfire erupted, fatally striking Naa GAMU.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, but police have confirmed the arrest of a suspect, who is currently in custody as investigations continue.

Authorities have assured the public that a comprehensive investigation is underway to bring the perpetrator(s) to justice. The incident has left the Nungua community in mourning, with many calling for enhanced security measures at traditional events.
