Hearing of the case on the shooting incident that led to the death of Lawrencia Naa Borley Nelson (Naa GAMU) at Nungua, a suburb of Accra, didn’t come off today at the Teshie-Nungua District Court 2.
This is due the absence of the trial judge. The case has thus been adjourned to March 26, 2025.
It was a massive show of love as family and friends of late Lawrencia Naa Borley Nelson (Naa GAMU) as well as family of her murder suspect thronged the Teshie -Nungua District Court 2 to witness the hearing of the case.
The suspect, Samuel Adjei who is standing trial for unlawful possession of firearms and murder, was brought to court by officials of the CID in charge of the case, but the presiding judge, Her Worship Georgette Camel Luterotte was absent.
The Families of all interested parties appeared disappointed at the turn of events at the court.
The body of the deceased, Lawrencia Naa Borley Nelson (Naa GAMU) who was shot during her enstoolment ceremony was released to the family and has since been buried in accordance with Islamic tradition.
It would be recalled that tragedy struck in Nungua as Lawrencia Naa Borley Nelson, popularly known as Naa GAMU, the newly enstooled Queen of the Ga-Adangme Muslim Union (Nungua West), was shot during her enstoolment ceremony.
According to eyewitnesses, the celebratory event took a horrific turn when gunfire erupted, striking Naa GAMU. She died later due to delayed healthcare.
