The Spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Hashmin Mohammed, has assured all candidates, parents and guardians that placements of Junior High School graduates on the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) will be released on September 4 as scheduled.
According to him, the portal will be opened in the evening on September 4 for all candidates to check which senior high schools they have been placed in.
Mr Mohammed disclosed this in an interview on Accra-based Joy FM on September 3.
“All is set for the release of the placement on the CSSPS tomorrow evening,” he said in an interview.
He stated that over 550,000 candidates have been placed, and they will get the opportunity to check when the portal is officially opened.
The Education Ministry’s Spokesperson further indicated that resolution centres will be created in all 16 regional capitals to enable candidates who experience any challenges to have them resolved.
“This year, all 16 regions will have resolution centres so that parents can be spared the inconvenience of having to travel all the way to Accra to have their concerns addressed.” he said.
It would be recalled that the Ministry of Education rescheduled the release of the 2026/2027 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results from Monday, August 31, 2026, to Friday, September 4, 2026.
The decision follows requests from parents, guardians, students, and Heads of Schools for additional time to complete the submission and uploading of student data onto the platforms of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the CSSPS.
Ministry data indicates that approximately 20,000 qualified students have not yet had their school choices uploaded to the CSSPS platform by their Heads of Schools, parents, or guardians. The extension is intended to ensure that pending data submissions do not prevent these students from participating in the placement process.
The deadline extension will enable all qualified students to complete the required procedures to secure placement in Senior High Schools (SHS) as well as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
Parents, guardians, students, and Heads of Schools have been strongly urged to utilize the extension period to submit and upload all outstanding student information before the new deadline.
The Ministry also reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a fair, transparent, efficient, and orderly placement process that offers every qualified student an equal opportunity to pursue higher education.
