The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) are insisting on their strike as threatened until the Ashanti Regional Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS) is sacked.

The Association has urged its members at the Manhyia Government Hospital to lay down their tools tomorrow, Friday, December 2, 2022.

Thestrike according to a statement issued by the GRNMA Thursday says the entire Ashanti region will join the strike Tuesday until the entire nation partake on Friday December 9, if Alex Opoku-Mensah is not sacked.

The Ashanti region NSS Director took a fight on behalf of his daughter who is a young doctor at the Manhyia Government Hospital, insulting a nurse and all General Arts students who are nurses.

The GRNMA after the incident issued a letter expressing their displeasure over the issue, demanding the man’s dismissal or they strike.

Even though the NSS has suspended Mr. Opoku-Mensah pending an investigations into the issue, the nurses say they are carrying on their threats until the man is sacked outrightly.
