The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has expressed her desire to revive concert party, theatre, and dance in Ghana as part of efforts to promote the country’s cultural heritage and the creative arts industry.

She made the remarks during the special Mother’s Day celebration organized by Onua TV.

The event brought together dignitaries, entertainment personalities, and members of the public to celebrate mothers and their contributions to society.

The event treated mothers to quality music, delicious food, and refreshing drinks, creating a memorable and enjoyable atmosphere for all attendees.

Several gospel musicians thrilled the audience with electrifying performances, keeping the mothers on their feet dancing throughout the celebration.

Stand-up comedians also kept the mothers entertained with hilarious performances, making the celebration a truly memorable experience.

Speaking at the event, Madam Dzifa Gomashie stressed the importance of preserving Ghana’s traditional entertainment culture, noting that concert party and theatre once played a major role in educating and entertaining the public.

According to the Minister, these traditional forms of entertainment played a significant role in promoting Ghanaian culture and storytelling and must be preserved for future generations.

She noted that revitalizing the sector would also create opportunities for young talents and practitioners within the creative arts space.

She further called for collective support from industry stakeholders and the public to help restore the country’s vibrant cultural and performance traditions.

The Minister commended Onua TV for taking the bold initiative to help turn her vision of reviving local arts, particularly concert party, into reality.

She reiterated that such an initiative requires substantial financial support and appealed to corporate organizations to come on board so the event can be organized on a monthly basis.

Speaking at the event, some mothers shared their experiences and expressed appreciation to the organizers for putting together an exciting entertainment lineup.

They noted that Mother’s Day should not be the only occasion dedicated to entertaining and celebrating mothers.

According to them, such programs should be organized at least every quarter to help mothers relax and relieve stress. “We want these opportunities at least every quarter to help us release stress,” they stated.
