Raphael Mensah, an IT Engineer wanted by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) for his suspected involvement in a corruption-related crime has turned himself in.
Mensah showed up in court on July 15 and was granted bail with strict terms. He was out of the country when a wanted notice was issued for him on July 8, 2025.
Mensah has been charged by the OSP with aiding and abetting the improper use of a public office for personal gain in violation of sections 20 (2) and 179C (a) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
The OSP says Mensah is a major suspect in a case involving the improper use of public position for personal gain.
Upon his return, Mensah voluntarily presented himself to the OSP and was subsequently arraigned before the court.
The presiding judge granted him bail to the tune of GHS 100,000 with two sureties. Additionally, Mensah was ordered to deposit his passport with the court and report to the OSP every two weeks as part of his bail conditions.
The OSP had earlier urged the public to assist in locating Mensah, providing contact details for tips. The case is expected to proceed as investigations continue.
