Members of Ghana’s Parliament have been described as “bunch of cowards defending absurdities” in the House, youth activist, Ivan Innocent Kyei, has said.

His comment stems from the Majority caucus’s U-turn on getting Ofori-Atta out of office.

Speaking Tuesday, November 22, 2022 on Onua TV/FM Maakye, Ivan Kyei said the MPs advice to the Finance Minister which he turned deaf ears on is basis enough not to have relented on their stance of getting him out.

The Majority MPs have said even though they want the minister to resign or be sacked, they didn’t want him out through the motion of censure the Minority filed for his ousting.

Turning around to defend him against the motion of censure is what Mr. Kyei described as an act of cowardice.

“These our MPs are bunch of cowards who are defending nothing but absurdities because the Asante Akyem MP says they advised Ken Ofori-Atta to peg the e-levy rate at 1% but he didn’t listen. Ofori Atta feels entitled to what’s going on. The MPs have now transformed themselves into a bunch of unfortunate cowards. Why do you turn a round to defend such a man?” he fumed.
