The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament has referred heads of 26 health institutions to the Attorney General for prosecution for over purchases without procurement amounting to GH₵5.8 million.
This was contained in the public accounts of Ministries and Departments as of December 2020.
James klutse Avedzi says the state cannot lose such monies out of negligence of the heads.
“Procured goods and services without obtaining alternative price quotations which is a breach of the Procurement Act,” he noted.
