Parliament has unanimously approved Emmanuel Kwadwo-Agyekum as Minister of State Designate, Special Initiatives, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo as Minister-designate for Greater Accra Region and Kenneth Gilbert Adjei as Minister-designate, Works, Housing and Water Resources.
The House approved the ministerial nominees on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 after the eight report of the Appointments Committee was debated by MPs. They now await their swearing-in by President Mahama.
All three nominees were vetted on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
So far, 17 Ministers have been approved and sworn-in by President Mahama out of the 42 that have been nominated.
Parliament is yet to approve the Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah as minority leader, Afenyo-Markin has raised issues including the nominee’s past comment about President Akufo-Addo.
On Thursday, January 30, Communications Minister-designate, Sam Nartey George and Foreign Affairs Minister-designate, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa will face the committee.
