Stand-in Black Stars captain Thomas Teye Partey, LA Galaxy’s Joseph Paintsil, Samsunspor’s Kingsley Schindler and Feyenoord’s Osman Ibrahim have pulled out of the squad to face Sudan due to injury.
The quartet have since been replaced after coach Otto Addo extended call-ups to four others.
Partey is said to be facing some medical issues, forcing Arsenal to request further tests. This is what necessitated that he stays in London for the tests.
For Paintsil, he is said to have experienced hamstring pain in his left leg in LA Galaxy’s win.
”His club doctors have scheduled him for an MRI on Monday, 7th October.”
The Netherlands-based Osman is also feared to have picked a hamstring injury in his side’s win over the weekend.
Schindler is said to have had a medical emergency meeting and could not even join the traveling team to Accra.
Four replacements have been announced immediately.
The four who would have to join camp in Accra are Michael Baidoo of Elfsbourg, Cercle Brugge’s Abu Francis, Jonas Adjetey and Ibrahim Sadick.
The first leg of the qualifier will be played on Thursday, October 10.
And the second leg played on Tuesday.
